Bangalore - Know the relevance of Vedas

BANGALORE: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB), in association with Iskcon, will organize an eight-day national veda conference here from July 21 to 28.

The objective is to highlight the essence of Vedas and its relevance in the present-day context, said BVB director HN Suresh. The conference will blend the age-old virtues of Vedas with modern technology.

Over 150 academics from across the country are expected to participate. There will be open-house discussions, film shows and exhibition of manuscripts, books, CDs/DVDs on Vedic literature. Scholars will be felicitated at the event.

A contest for science enthusiasts

Children with a fascination for science can try their hand in making windmill blades using any light material to make the maximum number of LEDs glow, and win a prize too. Times Foundation, in association with Sunday Science School, will organize a hands-on science competition -- Making of a Hand-held Wind Energy Generator -- for middle and high school students on July 7.
