To provide onward connection for other trains
The Southern Railways has revised the timings of five
trains operated in the Tiruchi-Mayiladuthurai, Karaikal-Nagapattinam,
and Villupuram-Tiruchi sections with immediate effect. The revision has
been effected to provide onward connection for other trains, according
to railway sources.
The railways has advanced the
departure time of Tiruchi-Mayiladuthurai Express (16234) from Tiruchi
Junction to 12.50 p.m. from 1.00 p.m..
The train will reach Mayiladuthurai at 3.15 p.m. instead of 3.25 p.m.
This
is to enable commuters proceeding to destinations beyond Mayiladuthurai
to catch the Mayiladuthurai-Villupuram (56876) Passenger that leaves
Mayiladuthurai at 3.25 p.m.
The departure of the
Mayiladuthurai-Tiruchi Passenger (56823) from Mayiladuthurai has been
advanced to 7.35 p.m. from 6 p.m. This will enable the passengers of the
Bangalore-Karaikal Passenger, arriving at Mayiladuthurai at 7.30 p.m.,
to catch the 56823 train, which will reach Tiruchi at 11.15 p.m. instead
of 9.20 p.m.
The Karaikal-Chennai Egmore Express
(16176) too will leave Nagore Junction at 9 p.m. instead of 9.15 p.m.,
and Nagapattinam at 9.25 p.m. instead of 9.35 p.m., as per the revised
timings.
This is to suit the Velankanni-Chennai Link Express.
