Manila:
Hackers in the Philippines on Saturday released mobile numbers allegedly belonging to President Benigno Aquino III.
The hackers, belong to a group called Anonymous Philippines, made the
numbers public on a Facebook account, to let the people contact him
directly, they said.
“Even for just one time or one day, we want to be able to directly say
what we want to happen or what our thoughts are as Filipinos,” the group
said.
The three mobile phone numbers were no longer working when dialled hours after the release.
Communications Secretary Ricky Carandang declined to confirm if the
phone numbers really belonged to Aquino, but denounced the release as
“cyber vandalism, plain and simple”.
“The President has always been accessible to the public,” he added.
