Haryana to inaugurate first e-library on Independence Day

SIRSA: The first e-library of the country will be inaugurated at village DhaniBharokha in the district on August 15, 2013. On the same day, the work to setup 50 e-libraries would also be started in 50 other villages of the district in which Rajiv Gandhi SewaKendras have been setup.

While stating this, deputy commissioner, Sirsa, J Ganesen said that the e-library at village Dhani Bharokha would be inaugurated by Haryana sports and youth affairs minister Sukhbir Kataria.

He said that in the initial phase, a sum of Rs 1 crore would be spent for setting up of e-library under Backward Regions Grant Fund. An agreement has been signed with Life Skill Development Company regarding the arrangement of computers, software, books and magazines.

He said that along with computers, books would also be made available for the villagers. He said that the construction work of Rajiv Gandhi Sewa Kendras is under progress in more than 100 villages in the Sirsa district.
