Ford's recently launched EcoSport SUV which has registered an amazing sales figure has reportedly overtook its current rival - Renault Duster, in the auto market .
According to a report by Indiancarsbikes, the compact SUV which has received many accolades in India as well as in the global market since the time of its inception is now the best selling SUV in the sub-continent. Ford reportedly sold 4,715 units of EcoSport in India within two months, in comparison to 3,089 units of the Renault Duster.
The aggressive price strategy adopted by the company is believed to be the reason for the huge success of EcoSport in the Indian market. The vehicle which was launched in ten trims and three engine versions with a starting price of ₹5.59 lakh has witnessed remarkable demand in the country. The vehicle received more than 30,000 bookings within the first 17 days of its launch in India on 26 June. The fact that the EcoSport is steering in with a greater speed when the whole auto market is reeling under sluggish demand sweetens its title even more. Ford is also witnessing good demand for the vehicle in other countries like Nepal and South Africa where EcoSport is being exported.
